Here at YDP Ltd., we have some exciting news. Our dentist, Dr Sibylle Schunemann, has won a prestigious award in a national dental competition.
The competition was organised by the British Society for Restorative Dentistry (BSRD), in collaboration with W&H, and was a scientific posters competition.
Sibylle's poster 'The introduction of an integrated dental care pathway for head and neck cancer patients' won the “best poster in the audit category”, which then qualified her to compete for the “ best overall poster". It is our pleasure to announce that she won this also. The poster presented was based on a 2 year audit project Sibylle led in her role as Specialty Doctor in Restorative Dentistry in Derriford hospital. The project was designed to improve dental services for patients receiving radiotherapy for a head and neck cancer. Structured dental care for patients receiving these treatments is vital, in order to minimise oral complications following treatment.
