After qualifying at Bristol Dental Hospital, Claire worked in general Practice in Somerset. In addition to this, she spent two years in hospital specialties including oral surgery, oral medicine and paediatrics. In 2015 she became Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and has been Lead for managing Dental Developmental Abnormalities in the South West for 5 years. She has now started a new role as Clinical Lead and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS trust. Now she manages developmental dental abnormalities, head & neck oncology and sever dental trauma. For patients outside of these groups she helps to create treatment plans so patient's dental management can be provided in local Practice.
She is an active part of the South West MCN team, national dental committees supported by the Royal College of Surgeons of which she is a member. She is on the medical advisory boards for the national Ectodermal dysplasia society, Royal Society of medicine Elite Sports and Dental Trauma UK South West. She is a member of the regional multi-disciplinary teams for; cleft, craniofacial, orthodontics, paediatrics, hypodontia and trauma.
Claire enjoys and is involved in teaching regional and nationally. She teaches on two of the Peninsula MSc courses, Bristol Undergraduates, HEE course and weekly for those training within the regions Hospitals to become Consultants and Specialist in the South West.
Claire regularly works in private Practice. She has a variety of interests within the restorative field other than management of priory group patients encompassing: dental implants, traumatic dental injury and gum disease management.
